Mushroom Foraging Tool

Webapp to help foragers find optimal areas for "burn morels" in Montana.

Objective: show possible areas where mushrooms could be growing depending on the month, recent precipitation, and if the foraging area has experienced a recent wildfire.

Method: dynamic elevation constraints by month, dynamic precipitation updated daily, and post-2023 wildfire perimeters.

Result: ArcGIS webapp showing possible areas for "burn morel" growth by month.

Mapping Compliance with Municipal Laws

Dashboard showing where urban camping is possible in Missoula, Montana.

Objective: build interactive dashboard that can be used by urban campers to find areas in compliance with the municipal ordinance on urban camping.

Method: codify legal terms into spatial restrictions that can be excluded from the total available urban camping area.

Result: identified areas with ambiguous restrictions for further policy enumeration.

StoryMap on the Northern Ireland Conflict

StoryMap to cover the history and present-day spatial consequences as seen in Belfast.

Objective: map religious segregation and the respective changes to socioeconomic conditions in census tracts.

Method: full StoryMap including a written narrative with embedded webmaps.

Result: 78 total views in the first week of being published.
